After 3 played minutes Copatana FC got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gonçalves. In the 5th minute Albertinho Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgílio Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Donato hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Virgílio Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho Leal in the 18th minute of play. Severino Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Pinho having to interfere. After having played for 26 minutes, Ricardinho Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Copatana FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardinho Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricardinho Rezende blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeu Pinho having to make a save. The supporters of Copatana FC booed when Pongahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Albertinho Leal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Pongahy's Yuri Simões sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virgílio Nogueira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Albertinho Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Pongahy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Copatana FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severino Netto to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricardinho Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Pinho having to interfere. When Severino Netto came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Copatana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Netto couldn't finish the play. 67 minutes into the match, Yuri Simões notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Copatana FC's Virgílio Nogueira. Virgílio Nogueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pongahy's Romeu Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Pongahy from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Pongahy booed when Copatana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgílio Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Dé Hermes had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 81 minutes into the game, Alberto Gonçalves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. With his leg Romeu Pinho managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Copatana FC's Ricardinho Rezende fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Severino Netto came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Copatana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Netto couldn't finish the play. Romeu Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Netto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pongahy's Albertinho Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yuri Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Pongahy supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Copatana FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Copatana FC.
