In the 6th minute Kiko Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Régis Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 minutes, Celso Koehler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Umararituba and the Erecatu players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Umberto Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Umberto Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the game, Wanderson Toscano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Umararituba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Erecatu the free kick. After having played for 13 minutes, Jorginho Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Erecatu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorginho Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jarbas Damião in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of André Veiga, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 20th minute, Sidney Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Simão in the 31st minute of play forced Umararituba's goalkeeper Régis Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Umberto Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Simão in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Régis Fernandes saved Umararituba from getting behind. Kiko Pernambucano's late challenge caught a Umararituba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kiko Pernambucano helped the player get up and apologised. After 38 played minutes Erecatu got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Pernambucano. In the 44th minute, Diego Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jarbas Damião who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of André Veiga when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diego Paraibano was the one to do the kick off. If Umberto Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, Diego Paraibano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. André Veiga was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Agenor Couto's late challenge caught a Erecatu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agenor Couto helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Umararituba got a freekick which was hit by Agenor Couto. Agenor Couto was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Umararituba's Régis Fernandes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Umararituba from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Umararituba booed when Erecatu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 73 played minutes, Erecatu's Gil Garcia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Régis Fernandes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Erecatu reached it. Jorginho Mattos struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Régis Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Erecatu. If Umberto Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erecatu's Jorginho Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jarbas Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 minutes, Dênis Favoretto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Erecatu and the Umararituba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dênis Favoretto hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Umararituba had won after a very even match.
