Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Giovanni Gaúcho got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matheus Tavares in the 3rd minute of play forced Petropolis's goalkeeper Rafinha Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charles Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Gaúcho in the 4th minute of play. With a little luck, Guajarraa's Charles Romero got control of the ball when Dino Xavier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Charles Romero made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Dino Xavier sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Matheus Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guajarraa's supporters rose to their feet, but Matheus Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafinha Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 17 minutes into the game, Gilvan Mesquita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Petropolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guajarraa the free kick. After 18 played minutes Petropolis got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Mesquita. Dino Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Charles Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matheus Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. César Alagoano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rafinha Oliveira. Petropolis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 38 played minutes Petropolis got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Mesquita. Franklin do Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Franklin do Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Franklin do Valle hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Petropolis's zone, Matheus Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafinha Oliveira came out of the goal and Matheus Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Dino Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Charles Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Renatinho Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. When Giovanni Gaúcho came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Petropolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovanni Gaúcho couldn't finish the play. Dino Xavier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charles Romero having to make a save. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guajarraa's goalkeeper Charles Romero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nilmar Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 65th minute, Matheus Tavares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guajarraa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 69th minute, Gilvan Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Víktor Moraes, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Luisão Figueiredo fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petropolis's protests and gave Luisão Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Petropolis:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Guajarraa:s goal. Petropolis:s Rafinha Oliveira showed great skill when he stopped Víktor Moraes:s penalty. After a rather tough play, Petropolis's Silvinho Moura got a free kick in the 75th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Nilmar Linares recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rafinha Oliveira. Nilmar Linares showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Nilmar Linares might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafinha Oliveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilmar Linares ran back to his position shaking his head. Petropolis's Gilvan Mesquita got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Gilvan Mesquita off the ground.
