Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Aílton Damião started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Rui das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Mutucal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui das Neves couldn't finish the play. With his leg Toninho Santana managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Peruipe's Ivo Gomes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Mutucal's zone, Cristian do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toninho Santana came out of the goal and Cristian do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ivo Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Mutucal's Lucas Pereira got a free kick in the 17th minute. Cristian do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Rui das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Damião in the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Mutucal getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Cícero Bertassi hit a great ball. After 28 played minutes, Peruipe's Tadeu Damião shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Toninho Santana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Peruipe reached it. After a rather tough play, Mutucal's Lucas Pereira got a free kick in the 29th minute. Mutucal's Toninho Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian do Nascimento in the 36th minute of play. Toninho Santana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivo Gomes in the 40th minute. Toninho Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Marinho in the 44th minute of play. When Lucas Pereira fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mutucal's protests and gave Lucas Pereira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th match minute, Mutucal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Pereira to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the match Peruipe got a corner. Mutucal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tadeu Damião ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Tadeu Damião got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Toninho Santana quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Cristian do Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Mutucal's Rui das Neves made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Pinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Aílton Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mutucal's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 60 minutes into the match, Mutucal's Aílton Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Pinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Rui das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Cristian do Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Toninho Santana. Mutucal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian do Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 71st match minute, Peruipe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Nilton Marinho took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Toninho Santana. Toninho Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The supporters of Mutucal booed when Peruipe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Renato Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute of the match Mutucal got a corner. Peruipe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wilton de Sena ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mutucal's Wilton de Sena to fire away a dangerous shot which Wilson Pinho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wilson Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Damião in the 93rd minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Peruipe fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mutucal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
