The audience thought a goal was coming when Téo Romero got free with Cacá Faustino in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Cruangy SS getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Arnaldo Antunes hit a great ball. Vivaldo de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Carlos de Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute Ademar Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cacá Faustino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos de Godoy came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Curupira SC's Cipriano Mattos. But to his dismay, Cipriano Mattos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Cipriano Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Ademar Bastos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Curupira SC booed when Cruangy SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cruangy SS's Carlos de Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vivaldo de Amorim in the 31st minute of play. Téo Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Faustino having to interfere. Cacá Faustino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademar Bastos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Téo Romero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Téo Romero couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Curupira SC's zone, Téo Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cacá Faustino came out of the goal and Téo Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. Carlos de Godoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curupira SC. The Curupira SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
