Capibaribe SS's Agnaldo da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermínio Xavier in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Hamílton Vasconcelos hit a great ball. Ibiacema's Doni Peixoto got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, João Pedro Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enéas Veloso. Capibaribe SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Pedro Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 28th minute, Anderson Negri had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamílton Vasconcelos during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hamílton Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Oscar Chaves fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibiacema's protests and gave Oscar Chaves a yellow card for diving instead. When João Pedro Dias came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Ibiacema fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pedro Dias couldn't finish the play. When Capibaribe SS's Hermínio Xavier in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ibiacema's goalie prevented a goal. Agnaldo da Rocha struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Manolo Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capibaribe SS. After a rather tough play, Ibiacema's Doni Peixoto got a free kick in the 47th minute. Manolo Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Pedro Dias to make the kick off. Manolo Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Washington Coutinho hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Hermínio Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manolo Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agnaldo da Rocha in the 62nd minute of the match. Manolo Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agnaldo da Rocha went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Wanderson Romero hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match.
