In the 3rd minute Anísio Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Oticica's goalkeeper Virgílio Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmílson Prestes. Virgílio Almeida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmílson Prestes in the 7th minute. Virgílio Almeida was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anísio Borges showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Anísio Borges who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Virgílio Almeida when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rui Zilles might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Fernando Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rui Zilles ran back to his position shaking his head. When Oticica's Eduardo Breckenfeld in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Macahe's goalie prevented a goal. Carlos Fernando Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Zilles in the 19th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmílson Prestes got free with Virgílio Almeida in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 23 minutes, Rui Zilles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oticica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Zilles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oticica's Virgílio Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Oticica from getting a goal against them. When Macahe's Anísio Borges in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Oticica's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Anísio Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 29 played minutes Oticica got a freekick which was hit by Nico Rosa. If Eduardo Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Virgílio Almeida managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Macahe's Edmílson Prestes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduardo Breckenfeld stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anísio Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Almeida having to interfere. Virgílio Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anísio Borges took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Virgílio Almeida. Virgílio Almeida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 76 minutes, Amílton Pires mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Macahe and the Oticica players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Oticica booed when Macahe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílton Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rui Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Fernando Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vânderson Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Gustavo da Costa's late challenge caught a Macahe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After a rather tough play, Oticica's Oscar Teles got a free kick in the 89th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Macahe's Tarcisio Koehler tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Edmílson Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Almeida having to interfere. Macahe were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Oticica for a fine match.
