With a little luck, Camurim SC's Rui Botelho got control of the ball when Maurício das Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10th minute, Camurim SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Maurício das Neves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamílton Fontes in the 35th minute of play forced Votouro's goalkeeper Giuseppe Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Votouro's Waldir Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hélder Trancoso charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Trancoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Votouro's Hélder Trancoso got a free kick in the 41st minute. If Waldir Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The wind increased when Hugo Carneiro made the kick off in the second half. Hamílton Fontes struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Giuseppe Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Camurim SC. In the 57th minute Hugo Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giuseppe Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laerte Pitta during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 79 played minutes Votouro got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Pitta. Hugo Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Rocha having to interfere. In the 89thth minute of the game Waldir Loyola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Camurim SC's Rui Botelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 91st minute, Afonso Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Votouro manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Camurim SC to win.
