Luiz Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Neves having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Teles in the 5th minute of play forced Ibitiruna SC's goalkeeper Cristian Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Gomes took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristian Neves. Cristian Neves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 12th match minute, Ibitiruna SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Hermes to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Ibitiruna SC's goalkeeper Cristian Neves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Gomes. In the 17th minute Agnaldo Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, Ibitiruna SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká da Silva to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Luiz Gomes in the 33rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Cristian Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Teles in the 40th minute of the match. After 44 minutes, Waldir Loyola made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cambogue AD's Manfredo Cardozo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Waldir Loyola was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Cambogue AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. With an all-out effort, Ibitiruna SC's Manfredo Cardozo threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Waldir Loyola, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Ibitiruna SC booed when Cambogue AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luiz Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jano Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 68thth minute of the game Luiz Gomes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibitiruna SC's Cristian Neves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pedrão Lira hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Ibitiruna SC's Cristian Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Teles in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibitiruna SC's goalkeeper Cristian Neves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Agnaldo Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfredo Cardozo having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Ismael Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cambogue AD's Manfredo Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldir Loyola in the 92nd minute of play. The Ibitiruna SC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Cambogue AD from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
