The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto da Mata during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Norberto da Mata hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Mário Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto da Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Paiva's Cristiano Coelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Pimenta in the 23rd minute of play. Zé Augusto Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Cristiano Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugênio Paraibano in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mário Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Padre FC's Zé Augusto Donato got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 36 minutes, Eugênio Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paiva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugênio Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Eugênio Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Augusto Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Cristiano Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eugênio Paraibano to strike the kick off in the second half. Eugênio Paraibano got in the 56th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Mário Quintal handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 72nd minute Erik Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugênio Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Mário Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Padre FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paiva the free kick. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Padre FC! In the 87th minute Eugênio Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Norberto da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 93 minutes into the match, Paiva's Eugênio Paraibano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mário Quintal narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
