Júlio Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Elivélton Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Mirindiba getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Júlio Cunha hit a great ball. Elivélton Rocha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Didi de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruninho Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bruninho Lara came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Malta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruninho Lara couldn't finish the play. Elivélton Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Didi de Brito successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 80 minutes into the game, Artur Aguiar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4.
