The referee showed Giuseppe Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, Canguinha AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Canguinha AD's Túlio de Castro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Canguinha AD from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Basílio Mineiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jânio Costa was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, Repartimento EC's goal looked a bit too open when Belchior Guedes came free, but Jânio Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24thth minute of the game Belchior Guedes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Repartimento EC's Jânio Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Repartimento EC's Egídio Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Samuca Félix fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canguinha AD's protests and gave Samuca Félix a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Samuca Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cafu Donato in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Túlio de Castro saved Canguinha AD from getting behind. If Cafu Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 1-0 became the score in the 42nd minute when Cafu Donato elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Egídio Fontes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Túlio de Castro firmly grabbed it by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cafu Donato made a kick off. Jânio Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belchior Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Alfredão de Senna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jânio Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute Belchior Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jânio Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canguinha AD's Túlio de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Fontes in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of Repartimento EC booed when Canguinha AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredão de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Canguinha AD's Túlio de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu Donato in the 73rd minute of play. Jânio Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belchior Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Egídio Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Túlio de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Túlio de Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egídio Fontes's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. If Egídio Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Canguinha AD's Túlio de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauã Pernambucano in the 91st minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
