Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Patrick Paranaense kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute Cléber Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Caubi's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Paranaense came free, but Sebastião Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Patrick Paranaense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sebastião Neves. Patrick Paranaense showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Vicente Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Patrick Paranaense came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Itambacuri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Paranaense couldn't finish the play. Valdo Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Caubi got a freekick which was hit by Valdo Queirós. Toninho Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastião Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Vicente Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Neves having to interfere.
The wind increased when José Paulo Fonseca made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Itambacuri's Patrick Chaves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sebastião Neves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itambacuri reached it. Hugo Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. If José Paulo Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itambacuri were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Caubi's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Armando Valle took the corner. After taking down the ball on Itambacuri's corner Armando Valle fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sebastião Neves quite easily take care of the ball. José Paulo Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Hermínio Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Moreno in the 76th minute of play. Valdo Queirós hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Vicente Castro might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastião Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Castro ran back to his position shaking his head. Sebastião Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Paranaense in the 84th minute of play. If Cléber Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Baltazar Moreno fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itambacuri's protests and gave Baltazar Moreno a yellow card for diving instead. Ademir Perez lost his temper 95 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Itambacuri fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 97 minutes, Caubi's Zé Maia got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hermínio Senna. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
