Gonçalo Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Cássio de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Soares having to interfere. Alexandre Silveira's late challenge caught a Rive EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandre Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. Alexandre Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Rive EC's Gonçalo Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Chaves in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Rive EC's goalkeeper Gonçalo Motta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moisés Sena. Gonçalo Motta came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Havre's Moisés Sena. But to his dismay, Moisés Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 25th minute, Moisés Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Sílvio Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rive EC's protests and gave Sílvio Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. Sílvio Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Dráusio Tande charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dráusio Tande the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Rive EC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Dráusio Tande hit a great ball. Gonçalo Motta acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 32nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ronaldão Catarinense. In the 35th minute of the match Ronaldão Catarinense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonçalo Motta skillfully saved the ball. Gonçalo Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Alexandre Silveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gonçalo Motta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélder Chaves to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Hélder Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Havre's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélder Chaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Motta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moisés Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gonçalo Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Moisés Sena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonçalo Motta was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Moisés Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st match minute, Rive EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Alexandre Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67thth minute of the game Hélder Chaves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rive EC's Gonçalo Motta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hélder Chaves got in the 68th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Gonçalo Motta handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 71st minute of the match Ronaldão Catarinense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonçalo Motta skillfully saved the ball. When Luís Eduardo Trancoso fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The supporters of Havre booed when Rive EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th match minute, Rive EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. After 96 played minutes, Havre's Ronaldão Catarinense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gonçalo Motta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Havre reached it. 98 minutes into the match, Havre's goalkeeper Alfredão Soares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio de Azevedo. When the referee ended the match the Havre players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
