In the 2nd match minute, Galheiros SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Freitas to maneuver through the defense. Luís Eduardo Trancoso's late challenge caught a Galheiros SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Eduardo Trancoso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rive EC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Luís Eduardo Trancoso hit a great ball. Gonçalo Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Hermes in the 7th minute of play. Gonçalo Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rive EC's Luís Eduardo Trancoso got a free kick in the 19th minute. When Jefferson Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Galheiros SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jefferson Hermes couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the match, Galheiros SS's goal looked a bit too open when Richard da Mata came free, but Zé Carlos Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes, Raphael Moreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galheiros SS and the Rive EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 35 minutes into the game, one of Galheiros SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Rive EC. Sílvio Queirós stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zé Carlos Brodel. 0-1. 40 minutes into the match, Galheiros SS's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio de Azevedo came free, but Zé Carlos Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richard da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, Rive EC's Richard da Mata sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Carlos Brodel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Valdo Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Rive EC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard da Mata stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard da Mata in the 52nd minute of play forced Galheiros SS's goalkeeper Zé Carlos Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Cássio de Azevedo made a precise shot to the right of Zé Carlos Brodel. Galheiros SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Gonçalo Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egídio Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Secco in the 58th minute of play forced Rive EC's goalkeeper Gonçalo Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonçalo Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Hermes in the 68th minute of play. If Richard da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rive EC's Richard da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cássio de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Zé Carlos Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Richard da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Rive EC's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Secco came free, but Gonçalo Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richard da Mata struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Zé Carlos Brodel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rive EC. Rive EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
