Jânio Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Chaves in the 3rd minute of the match. After 5 minutes, Alexandre Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Havre and the Gravatahy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, Alexandre Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Acácio Tinoco, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Hélder Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Soares having to interfere. Alexandre Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Jânio Gaspar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moisés Sena in the 20th minute. Moisés Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jânio Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Moisés Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laerte Dantas during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Havre's Laerte Dantas got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute Basílio Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hélder Chaves charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Chaves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Basílio Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Andrade in the 34th minute of play forced Havre's goalkeeper Alfredão Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredão Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee gave Havre a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ronaldão Catarinense, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gravatahy's Jânio Gaspar. 1-0. Laerte Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcel Saraiva during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th match minute, Gravatahy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. Laerte Dantas hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, Artur Marinho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alfredão Soares, 1-1. 86 minutes into the game, Havre's Moisés Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jânio Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Tiago Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Havre's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Guedes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jânio Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jânio Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. When Hélder Chaves came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Havre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélder Chaves couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Gravatahy getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Marcel Saraiva hit a great ball. When the referee ended the match the Havre players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
