Eusébio Mota's late challenge caught a Lufa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusébio Mota helped the player get up and apologised. After 4 played minutes Primavera got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Mota. After 6 minutes, Afonso de Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lufa FC and the Primavera players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes Lufa FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso de Queirós. In the 8th minute, one of Lufa FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lufa FC. In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Primavera. Eusébio Mota stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rogério Passos. 0-1. Afonso de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso de Queirós came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pedro Luís Mineiro could save by the left post. In the 19th minute, Isaltino Tande left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lufa FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The supporters of Primavera booed when Lufa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Luís Mineiro came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Lufa FC's Afonso de Queirós. But to his dismay, Afonso de Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Vitório Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Rogério Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lufa FC's Umberto Viana got a free kick in the 37th minute. Tales Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Passos having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isaltino Tande stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jaime Marques hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Rogério Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitório Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitório Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vitório Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Passos having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Primavera's zone, Afonso de Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luís Mineiro came out of the goal and Afonso de Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 69 minutes into the game, Lufa FC's Isaltino Tande nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Luís Mineiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. If Tales Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Kauan Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Primavera's Vitório Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luís Mineiro having to interfere. Vitório Rocha was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Primavera's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tales Tande's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Passos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Primavera's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso de Queirós came free, but Pedro Luís Mineiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 96 minutes, Jaime Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lufa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Primavera's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
