Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vítor de Queirós got the match started through his kick off. Vivaldo Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor de Queirós in the 10th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Ernesto Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Maracajatuba's Luís Paulo Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Araújo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some careless play in the Pajau defense, Vitinho Lopez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Araújo. The Pajau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Araújo should have stopped the shot. Vítor de Queirós received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vivaldo Garcia came out and tried to block the shot, but Vítor de Queirós slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 25th minute. Vitinho Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. João Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luís Paulo Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Pajau's goal looked a bit too open when Vitinho Lopez came free, but João Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo Castro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. João Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute Vítor de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vivaldo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Maracajatuba's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor de Queirós came free, but Vivaldo Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Pajau's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Castro came free, but João Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After recieving a nice pass, Maracajatuba's Rafinha Arósio tried to score from far away in the 57th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Maracajatuba's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Batista came free, but Vivaldo Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute Luís Paulo Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Magno Galvão's late challenge caught a Maracajatuba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Maracajatuba booed when Pajau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball.
