In the 6thth minute of the game Dudu Paes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iraty EC's Álvaro Donato was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wágner Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Álvaro Donato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the game, Adriano Veloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iraty EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Isidoro the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Iraty EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Veloso to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iraty EC's goalkeeper Álvaro Donato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 17th match minute, Isidoro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Barral to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Isidoro's Durvalino Figueiredo got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 20th minute, Washington Duarte sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Isidoro's Haroldo Velloso didn't even have to move. During the 22nd minute of the match Adriano Veloso completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Adriano Veloso a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Isidoro booed when Iraty EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the game, Wágner Linares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Isidoro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iraty EC the free kick. A collision led to Isidoro getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Wágner Linares hit a great ball. If Dudu Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Paes in the 28th minute of play forced Iraty EC's goalkeeper Álvaro Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Álvaro Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Linares in the 33rd minute of play. Manolo Mumbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Velloso having to interfere. Wágner Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Donato having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manolo Mumbach to make the kick off. Dudu Paes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Álvaro Donato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Anselmo de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Velloso having to interfere. Manolo Mumbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuca Tande charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuca Tande the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manolo Mumbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Manolo Mumbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ulisses Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Isidoro's Haroldo Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Mumbach in the 77th minute of play. If José Pedro Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Manolo Mumbach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolo Mumbach in the 88th minute of play forced Isidoro's goalkeeper Haroldo Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Iraty EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wágner Linares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the match clock showed 98 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Dudu Paes sped through Iraty EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Álvaro Donato. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Isidoro eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
