When Benjamin Mota came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Branco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Mota couldn't finish the play. Luiz Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ediberto Neves in the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Ediberto Neves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Vasconcelos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luiz Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Mota in the 20th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Pedro Augusto Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ediberto Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Mota in the 31st minute of play forced Piai EC's goalkeeper Luiz Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Piai EC's Luiz Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ediberto Neves in the 33rd minute of play. 0-2 became the score in the 35th minute when Benjamin Mota elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Ediberto Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ediberto Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Osmar Brodel managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Piai EC's Manuel Sarmento fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josué Breckenfeld during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Branco's Josué Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luizão Ferraz made a kick off. Ediberto Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Luiz Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cássio Seco's late challenge caught a Branco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cássio Seco helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Branco booed when Piai EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luizão Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Osmar Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, Ediberto Neves lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Luiz Vasconcelos. Luiz Vasconcelos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ediberto Neves went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Piai EC's Luiz Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Mota in the 86th minute of play. After 89 played minutes, Piai EC's Júnior Batista shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Osmar Brodel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Piai EC reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Ediberto Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Branco's supporters rose to their feet, but Ediberto Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Branco booed when Piai EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ediberto Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Piai EC's Luiz Vasconcelos got control of the ball when Ediberto Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Branco's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
