João Paulo Arce charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Paulo Arce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. João Paulo Arce hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Egídio Azevedo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renato Gaspar in the 11th minute of play forced Catingueiro SS's goalkeeper Afonso Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nico Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Afonso Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ismael da Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Paulo Arce's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Ismael da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Arce in the 21st minute of play. In the 27th minute, Pombinhos AD's Egídio Azevedo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Egídio Azevedo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Pombinhos AD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Egídio Azevedo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Pombinhos AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Catingueiro SS:s goal. The referee gave Catingueiro SS a penalty, 29 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tiago Gabriel Messias, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pombinhos AD's Ismael da Silveira. 0-1. Ismael da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Arce in the 34th minute of play. João Paulo Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ismael da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, one of Pombinhos AD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pombinhos AD. Tiago Gabriel Messias placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 41 minutes into the game, Catingueiro SS's Perivaldo Secco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ismael da Silveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Paulo Arce to make the kick off. Ismael da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Arce in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd match minute, Pombinhos AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Meira to maneuver through the defense. Júlio Gerber's late challenge caught a Catingueiro SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. Júlio Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Tiago Gabriel Messias, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Catingueiro SS's zone, Kléber Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Mello came out of the goal and Kléber Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raí Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, João Paulo Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ismael da Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Perivaldo Secco in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Pombinhos AD's goalkeeper Ismael da Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Perivaldo Secco. Catingueiro SS's Afonso Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Antunes in the 67th minute of play. Ismael da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes in the game, João Paulo Arce fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ismael da Silveira having to interfere. Pombinhos AD's Ismael da Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Pombinhos AD from getting a goal against them. When Waldir Passos fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catingueiro SS's protests and gave Waldir Passos a yellow card for diving instead. Afonso Mello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kléber Antunes's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. With a little luck, Pombinhos AD's Ismael da Silveira got control of the ball when Perivaldo Secco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kléber Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Afonso Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nico Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Pombinhos AD's Ismael da Silveira got control of the ball when Perivaldo Secco tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Catingueiro SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
