Rafa Luz's late challenge caught a Tucumduba EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafa Luz helped the player get up and apologised. 11 minutes into the game, one of Itahu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 19 played minutes Tucumduba EC got a freekick which was hit by Faustão Motta. Zé Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute Tucumduba EC were awarded a corner. Ian Magalhães went to the cornerflag to take it. A well done corner resulted in Geraldo Guimarães drilling the ball in to score 0-2 behind Itahu's goalkeeper. Washington Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geraldo Guimarães in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Arósio saved Itahu from getting behind. Zé Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luizão Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tucumduba EC's zone, Nilson Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo Sampaio came out of the goal and Nilson Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Luizão Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Itahu getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Washington Lima hit a great ball. In the 38th minute of the match Ian Magalhães sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Arósio skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Tucumduba EC's Olavo Sampaio got control of the ball when Nilson Couto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Olavo Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Neto in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th match minute, Itahu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Goiano to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Itahu's Luizão Neto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olavo Sampaio. That made the score 1-2 after 48 minutes of play. The Itahu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tucumduba EC were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geraldo Guimarães made a kick off. A collision led to Itahu getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Abel Goiano hit a great ball. Zé Arósio was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Carlos do Vale capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos do Vale really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Tucumduba EC's Olavo Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Neto in the 61st minute of play. Carlos do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Arósio having to interfere. Olavo Sampaio came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Itahu's Nilson Couto. But to his dismay, Nilson Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Itahu's Rafa Luz got his second yellow card of the match in the 72nd minute. The referee ordered Rafa Luz off the ground. Rafa Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Washington Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 minutes, Faustão Motta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tucumduba EC and the Itahu players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tucumduba EC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Faustão Motta hit a great ball. Nilson Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
