The audience thought a goal was coming when Eurico Alagoano got free with Nico Arósio in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fausto de Amaral in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nico Arósio saved Pessoa from getting behind. Ernani Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Valadares having to interfere. A collision led to Pessoa getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Eriberto Nunes hit a great ball. In the 16thth minute of the game Fausto de Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pessoa's Nico Arósio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernani Pires during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th minute, Ernani Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21stth minute of the game Fausto de Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pessoa's Nico Arósio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nico Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Pessoa's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto de Amaral came free, but Nico Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Urubici's Nico Arósio threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fausto de Amaral, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience was convinced that Ivo Mangueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Noel Valadares was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Pessoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivo Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noel Valadares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivo Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Noel Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute Ivo Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The wind increased when Fausto de Amaral made the kick off in the second half. After 61 played minutes Urubici got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Tavares. If Ernani Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dênis Massa fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pessoa's protests and gave Dênis Massa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th match minute, Pessoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Massa to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute of the match Filipe Schmidt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nico Arósio skillfully saved the ball. Pessoa's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
