When Zé Carlos do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibatiba AD's protests and gave Zé Carlos do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Zé Carlos do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ibatiba AD's Lúcio de Lara got a free kick in the 20th minute. Mameluco's Duda Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibatiba AD's goalkeeper Christiano Zonta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Lúcio de Lara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caetano Amaral was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Machado was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ibatiba AD's zone, Rodrigo Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Zonta came out of the goal and Rodrigo Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Ibatiba AD. Luís Fábio de Toledo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Caetano Amaral. 1-0. Duda Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Duda Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hélder Urbano hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Vito Moreira charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vito Moreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th minute of the match Arí Montenegro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christiano Zonta skillfully saved the ball. In the 71st minute Rodrigo Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pedro Netto fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mameluco's protests and gave Pedro Netto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ibatiba AD booed when Mameluco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christiano Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Machado in the 75th minute of play. 79 minutes in the game, Rodrigo Machado fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christiano Zonta having to interfere. Duda Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Zonta having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Rodrigo Machado fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 89th minute, Duda Corrêa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mameluco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Christiano Zonta stood somewhat misplaced when Rodrigo Machado came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 95 minute. The Ibatiba AD fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mameluco were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
