With his leg Enrique Lima managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Jureia's Olavo Pereira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hélio Chaves's late challenge caught a Jureia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Chaves helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mangueirinha EC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Hélio Chaves hit a great ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Cássio Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jureia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cássio Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Enrique Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cássio Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Lima having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Jureia's goal looked a bit too open when Rogério Mazza came free, but Chicão Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jureia's Chicão Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belmiro Reis in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Olavo Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cássio Cosme to make the kick off. In the 59th match minute, Jureia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Peres to maneuver through the defense. Belmiro Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogério Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chicão Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Mazza in the 90th minute of the match. After 91 played minutes Jureia got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho Jacinto. Enrique Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute, Jureia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rogério Mazza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Mangueirinha EC's Belmiro Maranhense got a free kick in the 97th minute. Cássio Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mangueirinha EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
