If Tostão Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Artur AD's goal looked a bit too open when Tostão Damião came free, but Jorginho Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tostão Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Damião in the 27th minute of play forced Artur AD's goalkeeper Jorginho Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Artur AD's goalkeeper Jorginho Prado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cícero Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cícero Leão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Cícero Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Tostão Damião left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buritys AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 38 minutes, Tostão Damião mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buritys AD and the Artur AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tostão Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Cícero Leão took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jorginho Prado. Jorginho Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After the first half Buritys AD were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tostão Damião to strike the kick off in the second half. Jorginho Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tostão Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After a rather tough play, Artur AD's Nando Brasil got a free kick in the 54th minute. Tomás de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jorginho Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nando Brasil hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Artur AD's zone, Tostão Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho Prado came out of the goal and Tostão Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomás de Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Jorginho Prado made a huge save. Serafim Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dráuzio Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dráuzio Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Acácio Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the game, Luizinho Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Artur AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buritys AD the free kick. After a rather tough play, Artur AD's Luizinho Carvalho got a free kick in the 64th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Buritys AD's Tomás de Lara slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jorginho Prado. That made the score 1-3 after 65 minutes of play. If Acácio Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 78th minute, Serafim Santos made a precise shot to the right of Dráuzio Teixeira. Buritys AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. In the 82nd minute, Tomás de Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buritys AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Buritys AD walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
