The supporters of Laranjinha booed when Cacununga EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 4 played minutes Cacununga EC got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Cosme. Laranjinha's Renatinho Peixoto got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Baptista in the 14th minute of play forced Laranjinha's goalkeeper Alessandro Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Didi Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laranjinha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didi Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Albertino Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cacununga EC's Digo Paranaense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Cacununga EC from getting a goal against them. Digo Paranaense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lúcio Queirós in the 28th minute. Alessandro Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertino Costa in the 31st minute of the match. Albertino Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Digo Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Amorim in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Didi Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Alessandro Pinho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Lúcio Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruninho Baptista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alessandro Pinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Alessandro Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Costa in the 68th minute of play. Albertino Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Pinho having to interfere. Albertino Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alessandro Pinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Alessandro Pinho was a little too slow when Albertino Costa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-2. Didi Amorim hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Albertino Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alessandro Pinho was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Albertino Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cacununga EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
