After a rather tough play, Acaju's Carlos Eduardo de Brito got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 23rd minute, Bicas SS's Luís Fabiano Perez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vicente Mendes. Vicente Mendes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 31st minute, Jarbas do Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Acaju's zone, Luís Fabiano Perez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Mendes came out of the goal and Luís Fabiano Perez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Deivid Pitta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Pitta in the 43rd minute of play forced Bicas SS's goalkeeper Adalmo Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adalmo Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
