After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, José Augusto dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeirais's supporters rose to their feet, but José Augusto dos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josué Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Palmeirais's João Augusto Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Josué Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Campidelis in the 14th minute of play. If José Augusto dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute of the match Valdemar Couto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Josué Fonseca showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. João Augusto Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Josué Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilton Vasconcelos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If João Augusto Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Nilton Vasconcelos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Felisburgo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. José Augusto dos Santos hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 42nd match minute, Felisburgo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tibúrcio Donato to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Paulinho Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
