Afonso Couto scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Paulo Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Felipe Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Pulgas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Fonseca couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Parrapato getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Amauri Alvarenga hit a great ball. After 17 minutes Parrapato's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Álvaro Gaspar who took care of the corner kick. After 19 played minutes, Pulgas FC's Vito Moura shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Neves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pulgas FC reached it. In the 22nd minute, Manfredo Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute, Alessandro Maciel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Parrapato's Manfredo Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the game, one of Parrapato:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Pulgas FC a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Álvaro Gaspar, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Parrapato's Luiz Paulo Neves. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Parrapato's zone, Afonso Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Neves came out of the goal and Afonso Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Paulo Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Luiz Paulo Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Fonseca in the 42nd minute of the match. If Alessandro Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alessandro Maciel to make the kick off. In the 71st minute Alessandro Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oséas de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Enio Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enio Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Pulgas FC's Enio Silveira got a free kick in the 75th minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Felipe Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pulgas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celsinho Loureiro came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Parrapato's Alessandro Maciel. But to his dismay, Alessandro Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. During the 90th minute of the match Enio Silveira completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Enio Silveira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Parrapato booed when Pulgas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Neves having to interfere. If Thomás Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pulgas FC played a much better game than Parrapato and deserved their victory. The Parrapato players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
