Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Jimirim SS's Nestor Fantini started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Nestor Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jimirim SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Nestor Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edinho Pombal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manuel de Brito made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Zeca Paiva sent off a good shot on target. If Jarbas Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edinho Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Tormenta's zone, Percival Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edinho Pombal came out of the goal and Percival Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Percival Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edinho Pombal having to interfere. Nestor Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Edinho Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, Jarbas Pitta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manuel de Brito. Jarbas Pitta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Edinho Pombal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Percival Ramos went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Manuel de Brito made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Rodolfo Meirelles sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percival Ramos in the 38th minute of play forced Tormenta's goalkeeper Edinho Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute Percival Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Tormenta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca Paiva to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Jarbas Pitta made the kick off in the second half. Edinho Pombal made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Percival Ramos sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Tormenta booed when Jimirim SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rony Fernandez, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nestor Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Manuel de Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarbas Pitta's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Jarbas Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel de Brito having to interfere. Jimirim SS's Manuel de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas Pitta in the 80th minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Rodolfo Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tormenta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nestor Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarbas Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel de Brito having to interfere.
