Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Queiroz in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juarês Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arrinha SS's José Pedro Peixoto suffered a concussion in the 21st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Francisco Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curral SS's protests and gave Francisco Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Edinho Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Daniel Mendes from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Juarês Quintal's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Nildo Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Arrinha SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nildo Tróia couldn't finish the play. Curral SS's Juarês Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Curral SS from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Curral SS's Edinho Simões got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Nildo Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Arrinha SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nildo Tróia couldn't finish the play. Juarês Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nildo Tróia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juarês Quintal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Nildo Tróia succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 40th playminute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Nildo Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrinha SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Nildo Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juarês Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nildo Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Quintal having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Tostão Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Vale in the 52nd minute of play. If Erik Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erik Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Aníbal Quintal was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 63 minutes into the match. When the match had been going on for 65 minutes, Curral SS's Jorge Esteves got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tostão Reis. Juarês Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. When Nelsinho Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Arrinha SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelsinho Amaral couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute, Edinho Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute, Nelsinho Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês Quintal was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Jorge Esteves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tostão Reis. Arrinha SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Juarês Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute.
