The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisinho Lara got free with Zeca Mandrak in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cambaquara's Serafim dos Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Roger Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Mucaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Cardoso couldn't finish the play. Serafim dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Luisinho Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeca Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Richard Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Zeca Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Cardoso in the 43rd minute of play forced Cambaquara's goalkeeper Zeca Mandrak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafim dos Santos was the one to do the kick off. If Roger Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisinho Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Zeca Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Cambaquara's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Cardoso came free, but Zeca Mandrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mucaia booed when Cambaquara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger Cardoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeca Mandrak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roger Cardoso in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeca Mandrak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cambaquara's Zeca Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisinho Lara in the 85th minute of play. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mucaia! After having played for 94 minutes, Claudinho Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cambaquara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinho Nóbrega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Cambaquara's goal looked a bit too open when Luisinho Lara came free, but Zeca Mandrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cambaquara had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
