The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Meier AD's Lenílson Oliveira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik Recife narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Meier AD defense, Hamílton Leme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diamantino da Fonseca. The Meier AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diamantino da Fonseca should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute, Paquara SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after José Vítor Fontes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Meier AD booed when Paquara SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenílson Oliveira might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Recife. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lenílson Oliveira ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Lenílson Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meier AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson Oliveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Vítor Fontes might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Recife. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Vítor Fontes ran back to his position shaking his head. Diamantino da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Ramos might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diamantino da Fonseca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Ramos ran back to his position shaking his head. When Afonsinho Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paquara SC's protests and gave Afonsinho Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. From a short distance, Meier AD's Lenílson Oliveira, in the 49th minute, tried to place the ball behind Erik Recife, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. Lenílson Oliveira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erik Recife came out and tried to block the shot, but Lenílson Oliveira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 50th minute. After the first half Paquara SC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hamílton Leme made a kick off. Erik Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenílson Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. A collision led to Paquara SC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Matheus Tasso hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Paquara SC's zone, José Vítor Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Recife came out of the goal and José Vítor Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Lenílson Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute of the match Remo Dantas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik Recife skillfully saved the ball. Meier AD's José Vítor Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If João Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave Afonsinho Rodrigues a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Meier AD booed when Paquara SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
