Anacetaba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Túlio Furtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the game, Bebeto de Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anacetaba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mapirunga FC the free kick. A collision led to Anacetaba FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Bebeto de Amorim hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Mapirunga FC's Silvinho Arósio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ezequiel Lopez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mané das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ezequiel Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar Ferraz in the 23rd minute of the match. Túlio Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Soeiro having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvinho Arósio was the one to do the kick off. Luiz Paulo Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Luiz Paulo Soeiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mané das Neves's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Mapirunga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Furtado came free, but Luiz Paulo Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
