In the 16th match minute, Tarumirim SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Barral to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 20 minutes, Luizinho Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarumirim SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizinho Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luizinho Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 played minutes Tarumirim SS got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Dias. A collision led to Guapiranga getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Zé Carlos Romero hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Miranda in the 33rd minute of play forced Guapiranga's goalkeeper João Paulo Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Rodriguinho Quaresma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Paulo Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Miranda in the 38th minute of the match. Jorginho Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorginho Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Arruda having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augusto Miranda was the one to do the kick off. Alfredo Arruda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodriguinho Quaresma in the 53rd minute. After 55 minutes, Tiago Gabriel Favoretto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tarumirim SS and the Guapiranga players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Tiago Gabriel Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute Zé Carlos Romero suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. A collision led to Tarumirim SS getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Luisinho Dias hit a great ball. Luizinho Barral struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. João Paulo Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tarumirim SS. Ismael Galvão hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Rodriguinho Quaresma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Paulo Dracena came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Tarumirim SS's Luisinho Soares. But to his dismay, Luisinho Soares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 88th minute, Jorginho Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Guapiranga's zone, Luizinho Barral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Paulo Dracena came out of the goal and Luizinho Barral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Guapiranga players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tarumirim SS.
