Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Hidrolandia SS's José Paulo Rosado started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 minutes, Cacá Guedes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Apolinario and the Hidrolandia SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Apolinario got a freekick which was hit by Cacá Guedes. Maurício Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Hidrolandia SS's goal looked a bit too open when Kléber Recife came free, but Bernardo Breckenfeld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kléber Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Hidrolandia SS defense, Kléber Recife kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Breckenfeld. The Hidrolandia SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Breckenfeld should have stopped the shot. If José Paulo Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hidrolandia SS's Maurício Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonel Mandrak during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Ricardo Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apolinario's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Simão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Breckenfeld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Maurício Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvério Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernardo Breckenfeld made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kléber Recife in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Simão in the 58th minute of play forced Hidrolandia SS's goalkeeper Bernardo Breckenfeld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored Apolinario's protests and gave Dênis Passos a yellow card for diving instead. Dênis Passos hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Maurício Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hidrolandia SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurício Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The Apolinario supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Apolinario would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
