Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jaime Prestes kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Prestes in the 5th minute of play forced Pitombeira SS's goalkeeper Anselmo de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Válter Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Paulo Renato Cosme notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Pitombeira SS's Anselmo de Queirós. Anselmo de Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 12 minutes into the game, Almir Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Agnaldo Arruda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Agnaldo Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almir Massa in the 17th minute of the match. Paulo Renato Cosme struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Anselmo de Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carrascao. In the 21st minute Toninho Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Jeferson de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselmo de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Prestes in the 32nd minute of play. Anselmo de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Renato Cosme in the 33rd minute. Carrascao's Jaime Prestes got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Agnaldo Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Almir Massa in the 42nd minute of play. Toninho Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Arruda having to interfere. Marcus Arruda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Agnaldo Arruda. Carrascao's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Toninho Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Agnaldo Arruda having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Almir Massa to make the kick off. Anselmo de Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Prestes's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Anselmo de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Renato Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, Almir Massa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Agnaldo Arruda, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Pitombeira SS getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Almir Massa hit a great ball. Anselmo de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, Pitombeira SS's José Pedro Borges got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute of the match Zé Pedro da Mata shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anselmo de Queirós showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pitombeira SS's goalkeeper Anselmo de Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Almir Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Agnaldo Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
