Murillo Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Cláudio Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Reis in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Magarai's Basílio Zanette nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celso Ferraz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Marcelinho Reis took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Maranhense. Cláudio Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Marcelinho Reis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Maranhense was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Cláudio Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandinho Ceresso in the 26th minute of the match. Antônio Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celso Ferraz having to make a save. 30 minutes into the game, Betão Pinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magarai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maia the free kick. In the 30th minute, Betão Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, Magarai's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandinho Ceresso came free, but Cláudio Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 33 minutes, Giovani Lucas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maia and the Magarai players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Maia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani Lucas to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the match, Maia's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Soares came free, but Celso Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antônio Soares to strike the kick off in the second half. Basílio Zanette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antônio Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiaguinho Dias hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Manoel Cerezo's late challenge caught a Maia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manoel Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Magarai getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Manoel Cerezo hit a great ball. Cláudio Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelinho Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Magarai's Cláudio Maranhense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Magarai from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Magarai getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Manoel Cerezo hit a great ball. Cláudio Maranhense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelinho Reis went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Magarai's Ulisses Arósio got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute Maia were awarded a corner. Ricardinho Gerber went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Ricardinho Gerber got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cláudio Maranhense quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fernandinho Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Cláudio Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Zanette in the 82nd minute of play. In the 86th minute, Antônio Soares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Ferraz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2.
