After a rather tough play, Madalena SS's Luizinho Dracena got a free kick in the 2nd minute. A collision led to Madalena SS getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Luizinho Dracena hit a great ball. André Luís Matorin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dedé Toscano firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Madalena SS's João Reis, in the 10th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Madalena SS. After having played for 19 minutes, João Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Madalena SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Reis in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dedé Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Gustavo Velloso fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Madalena SS's protests and gave Gustavo Velloso a yellow card for diving instead. When Fernão Sá came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Paranary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernão Sá couldn't finish the play. When Aleandro de Godoy came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Paranary fans jumped to their feet. Aleandro de Godoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Simões having to interfere. Madalena SS were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Paranary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jarbas Queirós took the corner. The corner led Madalena SS's Jarbas Queirós to fire away a dangerous shot which Dedé Toscano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Reis in the 61st minute of play forced Paranary's goalkeeper Dedé Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleandro de Godoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aleandro de Godoy struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Diamantino Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paranary. In the 73rd minute Fernão Sá suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarbas Queirós during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jarbas Queirós hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Luizinho Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Aleandro de Godoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Simões having to interfere.
