Diamantino Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aratu SC's Donato Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Reis in the 5th minute of play. When Jarbas Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Madalena SS's protests and gave Jarbas Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. Jarbas Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Michel Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Madalena SS getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Luizinho Dracena hit a great ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Michel Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aratu SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Dias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michel Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Diamantino Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Madalena SS's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Vergílio came free, but Diamantino Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michel Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Diamantino Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Michel Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Gabriel Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Goiano was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and André Luís Matorin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. André Luís Matorin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 32nd minute, João Reis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donato Goiano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 40th minute Armindo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gabriel Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Aratu SC's zone, André Luís Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Goiano came out of the goal and André Luís Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gabriel Vergílio to strike the kick off in the second half. Diamantino Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Vergílio in the 51st minute of play. When Aratu SC's Gabriel Vergílio in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Madalena SS's goalie prevented a goal. When Luizinho Dracena fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Madalena SS's protests and gave Luizinho Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. Donato Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Matorin in the 67th minute of the match. Michel Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Simões having to interfere. André Luís Matorin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Goiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Donato Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Luís Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 87th minute, Gabriel Vergílio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Aratu SC's Douglas Pimenta got a free kick in the 89th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Aratu SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Madalena SS.
