Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rogério Valladares took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 played minutes Thomar got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Brasil. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Tadeu Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thomar's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeu Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinei Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Décio Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Claudinei Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Décio Brodel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 19 minutes, Albertino Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balbino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertino Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 25 minutes, Décio Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. With a little luck, Thomar's Leandro Nóbrega got control of the ball when Albertino Meirelles tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Wilton Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. Thomar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Balbino the free kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Décio Brodel to make the kick off. Claudinei Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Branco in the 51st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Balbino defense, Wilton Branco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Loyola. The Balbino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Loyola should have stopped the shot. Claudinei Loyola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilton Branco in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Balbino getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Rogério Valladares hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Décio Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Décio Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Thomar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Décio Brodel couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Valladares in the 81st minute of play forced Thomar's goalkeeper Leandro Nóbrega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Thomar's goal looked a bit too open when Albertino Meirelles came free, but Leandro Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leandro Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 90th match minute, Balbino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Loyola to maneuver through the defense. Thomar's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
