Emanuel Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Medeiros in the 4th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Mourao's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Barral came free, but Emanuel Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Gustavo Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Nelson Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nelson Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Emanuel Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelson Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emanuel Maia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelson Barral's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Gustavo Medeiros during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Macuje's Luís Gustavo Medeiros got a free kick in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafa da Rocha in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robinho Bittencourt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Macuje's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cesinha Furtado fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

If Rafa da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd match minute, Mourao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 59 minutes, Nelson Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macuje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 61 played minutes Luís Gustavo Medeiros rounded Mourao's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 65th minute, Cesinha Furtado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robinho Bittencourt was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Cesinha Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Nelson Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macuje's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelson Barral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Gustavo Medeiros in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Maia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 80 minutes, Chicão Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mourao and the Macuje players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mourao fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Macuje. Sílvio Luiz de Sena stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emanuel Maia. 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafa da Rocha in the 85th minute of play forced Macuje's goalkeeper Robinho Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robinho Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesinha Furtado in the 89th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Belmiro Galvão during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Macuje's Belmiro Galvão got a free kick in the 90th minute. Arlindo Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Macuje left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mourao.
