Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gino Toscano kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sarvuela's zone, William Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Antunes came out of the goal and William Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gino Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ian Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho Fontes in the 11th minute of play. Gino Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Eliseu Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gino Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Serginho Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Antunes having to interfere. The supporters of Sarvuela booed when Merces was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The free kick made by Merces's Serginho Fontes led to a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Cacá Marinho put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Eliseu Romero. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Toscano in the 27th minute of play forced Merces's goalkeeper Eliseu Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sarvuela's Cacá Marinho got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 34 minutes into the game, William Rezende recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ian Antunes. William Rezende showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 39th minute, Serginho Fontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If William Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serginho Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertinho Antunes hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
52 minutes into the match, Serginho Fontes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ian Antunes. Sarvuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serginho Fontes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. William Rezende blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ian Antunes having to make a save. Ian Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Sarvuela defense, Roger Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ian Antunes. The Sarvuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ian Antunes should have stopped the shot. After 65 played minutes Merces got a freekick which was hit by Roger Castro. After 69 minutes, Cacá Marinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarvuela and the Merces players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Merces booed when Sarvuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cacá Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albertinho Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albertinho Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Serginho Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ian Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. William Rezende might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ian Antunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. William Rezende ran back to his position shaking his head. Serginho Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Antunes having to interfere. Eliseu Romero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cacá Marinho in the 93rd minute. Merces walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
