In the 8th minute, Filipe Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Miranda struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Severino Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apuiares SS. Álvaro Vergílio hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Severino Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Valle in the 13th minute of the match. The supporters of Apuiares SS booed when Praiao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. From close distance Ernesto Eger pressed in the 1-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 20 minutes into the game. José Carlos de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Leandro Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernesto Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Galvão having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Ernesto Eger notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Apuiares SS's Leandro Galvão. Leandro Galvão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Oscar Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Praiao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Valle came free, but Severino Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee gave Apuiares SS a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Diego Miranda, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Praiao FC's Severino Santana. 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oscar Valle to strike the kick off in the second half. Natã Dias's late challenge caught a Apuiares SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natã Dias helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Praiao FC's Natã Dias got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Praiao FC's Severino Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Valle in the 53rd minute of play. Oscar Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ernesto Eger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leandro Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Apuiares SS's Maurício Rezende sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severino Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 73 minutes, Ernesto Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Praiao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th match minute, Praiao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edu do Valle to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Severino Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Oscar Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurício Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Santana having to interfere.
