When Róbson de Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Caxanga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Róbson de Amaral couldn't finish the play. Anísio de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Elano Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puba SC. Puba SC's Anísio de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dudu de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Anísio de Alcântara notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Caxanga's Elano Mendes. Elano Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Caxanga booed when Puba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Urbano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Noel Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dudu de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Senna in the 35th minute of the match. If Anísio de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elano Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caxanga's Elano Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés de Alcântara in the 67th minute of play. Dudu de Amorim made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Noel Senna sent off a good shot on target. 73 minutes into the match, Caxanga's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés de Alcântara came free, but Elano Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Moisés de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puba SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Moisés de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moisés de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Caxanga eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
