The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Vermelhinha's zone, Anísio de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonsinho Pitta came out of the goal and Anísio de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anísio de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Pitta having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vermelhinha's zone, Moisés de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonsinho Pitta came out of the goal and Moisés de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonsinho Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moisés de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Afonsinho Pitta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puba SC. Vermelhinha's Afonsinho Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés de Alcântara in the 37th minute of play. Alan Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Dudu de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moisés de Alcântara to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anísio de Alcântara got free with Afonsinho Pitta in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 52nd match minute, Vermelhinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otávio Prado to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 54 in the game by Anísio de Alcântara from a close distance when the talented Afonsinho Pitta managed to make a qualified save. Vermelhinha's players were relieved. When Moisés de Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Puba SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moisés de Alcântara couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Anísio de Alcântara reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Afonsinho Pitta. The goal made the score 0-2. Moisés de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Alan Rossi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Puba SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
