Angelo Ortiz started the match with the kick off. Dalmo Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The audience was convinced that Angelo Ortiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Xavier was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Arlindo da Rocha in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dalmo Paranaense, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Denílson Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Paranaense having to interfere. Imbirituba were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Tuive's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Narciso Negri took the corner. With a little luck, Imbirituba's Dalmo Paranaense got control of the ball when Arlindo da Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Azevedo in the 25th minute of play forced Imbirituba's goalkeeper Dalmo Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Imbirituba's Alfredão Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Tuive's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Ortiz came free, but Alfredo Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Tuive's Alfredo Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Maranhense in the 51st minute of play. If Ronaldinho Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the game, Tuive's Arlindo da Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dalmo Paranaense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Arlindo da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denílson Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denílson Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute, Imbirituba's Angelo Ortiz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Dalmo Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Azevedo in the 89th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tuive's zone, Angelo Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Xavier came out of the goal and Angelo Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Tuive's Alfredo Xavier got control of the ball when Alfredão Schmidt tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Imbirituba players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Tuive from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
