Charles Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gláuber Zilles in the 24th minute of the match. Erivaldo Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugênio Tepedino in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Missi EC got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Paraibano. 30 minutes into the match, Pune's Eugênio Tepedino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erivaldo Cardoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erivaldo Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugênio Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gláuber Zilles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Missi EC's Erivaldo Cardoso got control of the ball when Valério Furtado tried to sneak it across the goal line. 52 minutes into the game, one of Missi EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Eugênio Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Pune's Erivaldo Cardoso threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ezequiel Moura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With his leg Erivaldo Cardoso managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Pune's Eugênio Tepedino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 67th minute, Gláuber Zilles made a precise shot to the right of Charles Eger. Pune's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.
