Doni Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Doni Urbano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Doni Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Lúcio Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bucuituba EC's Doni Urbano got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 23rd play minutes Márcio dos Santos shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Joel Faria and just under the crossbar into goal. If Manuel Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Márcio dos Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joel Faria. Bucuituba EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Márcio dos Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Manuel Mello struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Joel Faria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piratini AD. Joel Faria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute of the match Piratini AD got a corner. Bucuituba EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marcos Faustino ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Piratini AD's Tibúrcio Bertassi to fire away a dangerous shot which Joel Faria despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Manuel Mello came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Piratini AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Mello couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bucuituba EC's goalkeeper Joel Faria, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Bucuituba EC's Joel Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Mello in the 54th minute of play. Manuel Mello received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joel Faria came out and tried to block the shot, but Manuel Mello slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 64th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Bucuituba EC's goalkeeper Joel Faria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Márcio dos Santos. Manuel Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júnior Andrade in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lúcio Peixoto saved Piratini AD from getting behind. Lúcio Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doni Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Lúcio Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doni Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Júnior Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st minute, Manuel Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Doni Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bucuituba EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Doni Urbano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Peixoto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Mello in the 90th minute of play. Márcio dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Joel Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th match minute, Bucuituba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robinho Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Faustino took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joel Faria. Bucuituba EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Piratini AD walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
